Minnesota Cattle on Feed Down 25,000 Head from 2020

Cattle and calves on feed for the slaughter market in Minnesota for feedlots with a capacity of 1,000 or more head totaled 100,000 head on July 1, 2021, according to the latest USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service -- Cattle on Feed report. This is down 5,000 from last month and down 25,000 head from July 1, 2020.
Placements during June totaled 12,000 head, up 1,000 head from May 2021 but down 2,000 head from June 2020.
Marketings for June were 16,000 head, up 1,000 head from May 2021 but down 2,000 head from June 2020.
Other disappearance totaled 1,000 head.
