Energy Exhibit to Highlight Clean Energy Initiatives
Minnesota Ag Connection - 08/10/2018

What communities can do to support clean energy action in Minnesota will be the focus of this year's energy exhibit at the Minnesota State Fair (Aug. 23-Sept. 3). For the past several years, the energy exhibit, coordinated by the Minnesota Department of Commerce, has focused on residential energy-saving opportunities, with an emphasis on how households can take action to reduce their energy consumption. This year the focus will broaden to share what communities can do to save energy and reduce their carbon footprints.

The energy exhibit, located at the Eco Experience on the north side of the fairgrounds, will showcase several Minnesota communities that have implemented successful clean energy strategies. Other displays will feature community solar gardens, Minnesota electricity and green pricing, an interactive quiz game called "Climate in Jeopardy," LED lighting choices, and more.

The Commerce energy exhibit is a partnership of state agencies, utilities, retailers, and nonprofit groups, with the shared goal of educating the public about effective approaches to energy improvements and saving energy.
