Cattle raisers association wraps up 2023 Policy Conference
USAgNet - 09/28/2023

The Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association has just wrapped up its 2023 Policy Conference. It was all about discussing the cool stuff that’s going to shape the future of the cattle industry.

Arthur Uhl, the association’s president, was super excited about the gathering. He said it was a “tremendous success.” Bringing cattle raisers together to chat about important issues is what they love doing.

During the meeting, members had their say on new and outgoing policies. They even gave the thumbs up to a new strategic plan that’s going to guide the association until 2029.

They also chatted about what happened during the 88th Texas Legislature Regular Session. The association was busy promoting policies like the Right to Farm, truth in labeling for alternative proteins, and landowner liability legislation. They even discussed propositions affecting agriculture that will be on the November ballot.

Arthur Uhl pointed out a biggie – Proposition 1. It’s all about establishing the Right to Farm statute within the Texas Constitution. Members realized there’s still more to be done, and it all starts with casting their votes soon.

The association represents a whopping 26,000 cattle raisers in the Southwest.
