The 2026 Cow Calf Days event will take place on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Central Time at Central Lakes College, located at 1830 Airport Road in Staples, Minnesota. Now in its 53rd year, Cow Calf Days remains one of the most trusted educational events for the beef cow calf sector in the state.
Organized by University of Minnesota Extension, the event focuses on sharing research-based knowledge and practical tools that can support cow calf operations of different sizes and management styles. The sessions are designed to be clear, informative, and useful for everyday decision making in beef production.
Educational topics for 2026 will include herd health, mineral and general nutrition, and important industry updates. A beef research update will also be shared to help attendees understand recent findings and how they may apply to real-world production systems. Extension educators and industry organizations such as the Minnesota State Cattlemen’s Association and the Minnesota Beef Council will contribute to the program.
In addition to the educational sessions, a trade show will run alongside the event. Vendors will showcase new technology, financial services, and products with practical uses for cow calf operations. This allows attendees to explore tools and ideas that may support efficiency and long-term planning.
The registration cost is $10, and advance registration is required by January 13, 2026. Interested participants can register online using the following link:https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeymzrBG-Wau_MBe4OM9lKyNXLpDDUBIOG6CQsdUk_eYbjbXA/viewform
