The City of Bloomington will hold a public hearing to review a proposed conditional use permit for a cannabis manufacturing and indoor agriculture facility. The project is planned for 9130 Grand Avenue South and includes indoor cannabis cultivation and manufacturing operations.
The hearing is scheduled for August 20, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Bloomington Civic Plaza, located at 1800 West Old Shakopee Road, Bloomington, Minnesota. The Planning Commission will review Case #PL2026-135, submitted by Son & Do Partners, before making recommendations regarding the proposed development.
The meeting is open to the public, allowing residents, business owners, and other interested individuals to learn more about the proposal and share their opinions. Public participation is an important part of the city's planning process because it allows community members to provide feedback before decisions are made.
People who cannot attend the meeting in person have several ways to follow the discussion. The meeting will be available through Bloomington Television, online live streaming, and the city's official YouTube channel. Residents who wish to speak during the public hearing may also participate by telephone using the meeting access information provided by the city.
Written comments may also be submitted before the hearing. To allow staff enough time to prepare materials for the Planning Commission, comments should be received by noon on August 20, 2026. Residents are encouraged to include the name of the agenda item when submitting written testimony.
The proposed facility includes both cannabis manufacturing and indoor cultivation activities. Indoor agriculture uses controlled growing environments that allow crops to be produced year-round while managing temperature, lighting, humidity, and other growing conditions.
