Minnesota Farmers Union presents a Dedicated Service to Farmers Union award to Claudine Arndt during its annual awards program on November 22. The organization recognizes her strong leadership, long service, and continued involvement in supporting Minnesota’s agricultural community.
Arndt previously served as the Minnesota Cooks and Membership Director for the organization. For 15 years, she helped share farm-to-table stories through the Minnesota Cooks calendar, highlighting the connection between local growers, chefs, and consumers.
She also serves as co-author of a book that features fresh recipes and stories from across the state. Even though she stepped away from her staff role earlier this year, she remains an active and committed supporter of the organization.
Her work in local foods and membership engagement plays a key role in strengthening participation across the state. Her leadership contributes to higher involvement and renewed interest in community-based agriculture efforts.
Speaking about her work, MFU leadership expresses appreciation, stating, “Claudine is an advocate for family farmers, both through her work in local foods with Minnesota Cooks and through her work leading the MFU membership team. Through her dedication and outreach, MFU experienced membership growth and a resurgence in membership involvement.”
Reflecting on the honor, Arndt shares her deep appreciation for the organization and its mission. She says, “It has been an honor being part of the team at Minnesota Farmers Union and working to help build a strong local foods system and uplift farmers throughout Minnesota. I believe in the mission of MFU and the power of people working together, and I will always treasure my Farmers Union community.”
The award is presented during the 84th annual Minnesota Farmers Union State Convention, held November 21-23 in Minneapolis. The event brings together members, partners, and leaders to discuss key issues, celebrate achievements, and plan future efforts.
Minnesota Farmers Union continues to support its mission of protecting and improving the economic interests and quality of life of rural communities. The organization is membership-based, open to all, and focused on advocacy, education, and community engagement.
