Scholarship Program Expands In 2026

By Scout Nelson

Minnesota Corn has announced its 2026 scholarship recipients, awarding financial support to six students pursuing careers in agriculture. Each selected student will receive $5,000 to help continue their education and achieve their professional goals.

The scholarship program, launched in 2019, aims to support young members of the Minnesota Corn Growers Association. It focuses on building opportunities for future agricultural leaders. Since its beginning, the program has distributed $150,000 to 30 students across the state.

Usually, the organization provides four scholarships each year. However, in 2026, the number increased to six due to a strong pool of applicants. This decision reflects the growing interest and commitment among students toward agriculture careers.

The program also works alongside county corn organizations and national-level initiatives that provide additional scholarship opportunities. These efforts together create a strong support system for students entering agriculture fields.

The selected students represent different educational stages, including high school seniors and college students. They are pursuing various fields such as agronomy, agricultural business, precision agriculture, and diesel mechanics. Many of them aim to return to family farms, manage agricultural businesses, or work in industry roles such as seed sales and equipment technology.

Beyond academics, the recipients have shown strong involvement in leadership programs and extracurricular activities. Their participation in youth organizations like 4-H and FFA has helped build skills in leadership, communication, and teamwork. Many have also gained hands-on experience through internships, farm work, and community involvement.

This scholarship program plays an important role in encouraging students to choose agriculture as a career path. By supporting education and leadership development, Minnesota Corn is helping strengthen the future of the agricultural sector. More details about scholarship opportunities can be found here.
