The Minnesota Corn Growers Association held its annual meeting last week during the MN Ag Expo in Mankato. As part of the meeting, elections were conducted for positions on the association’s 18-member board of directors, ensuring continued leadership and representation for corn farmers across the state.
During the election process, five current board members were reelected. Those reelected include Wes Beck of St. James, Angela Guentzel of Kasota, Nick Peterson of Clear Lake, Tim Waibel of Courtland, and Todd Wentzel of Murdock. Their reelection reflects member confidence in experienced leadership and ongoing advocacy efforts.
In addition, three individuals were elected to the board for the first time. Newly elected board members are Mark Enninga of Rochester, Shayne Isane of Badger, and Adam Jones of Lake Crystal. Their addition brings new perspectives and ideas to the association as it continues to address issues affecting the corn industry.
In a statement, Beck, who is serving as MCGA president in 2026, congratulated the newly elected farmer-leaders and thanked all candidates who participated in the board election. He also recognized outgoing board members Bryan Biegler, Clayton Johnson, and Harold Wolle for their years of service and dedication.
“Advocating on behalf of family farmers takes hard work and dedication, characteristics that Bryan, Clayton, and Harold consistently demonstrated during their service,” Beck said. “I’m grateful to have served alongside these farmer-leaders and look forward to working with Mark, Shayne, and Adam as they transition onto the board.”
The annual meeting also included special recognition for leaders who have made meaningful contributions to agriculture. Jim Kanten received the Gavel Award for his service as MCGA president in 2025. State House Agriculture Co-Chair Paul Anderson was honored with the Friend of Agriculture Award, and Harold Wolle received the Golden Kernel Award.
The Minnesota Corn Growers Association remains committed to supporting corn farmers through leadership development, education, and policy advocacy. More information about the MCGA Board of Directors is available at https://www.mncorn.org.
