Farm Bureau Shares 2025 Legislative Wins

Farm Bureau Shares 2025 Legislative Wins

By Scout Nelson

Leaders from the Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation (MFBF) are available for interviews from June 11 to 13 to share highlights from the 2025 legislative session. They will provide insights into the organization’s work to support agriculture and rural development throughout the state.

The interview panel includes the MFBF president and vice president, as well as two members of the public policy team. Interviews can be scheduled by contacting Rachel Reisig, director of communications, at rachel.reisig@fbmn.org or 612-916-9958.

Throughout the session, MFBF maintained a daily presence at the state Capitol. Staff and members actively engaged in testimony and meetings with lawmakers. During National Ag Day in March, more than 170 members met with legislators to highlight agriculture’s role in the state’s economy. In addition, several hosted events and farm tours in their home districts to offer real-life insights to policymakers.

The MFBF Board of Directors developed its 2025 legislative priorities with input from grassroots members. Key focus areas included generational farming, environmental stewardship, rural prosperity, research and innovation, and emergency preparedness for animals.

MFBF’s public policy staff worked closely with lawmakers on issues in all five areas. They provided both written and verbal testimony on multiple bills introduced in the Minnesota House and Senate. These efforts aimed to advance laws that benefit farming families, protect natural resources, and support economic stability in rural areas.

“Guided by its grassroots members, the MFBF Board of Directors set its 2025 priority issues focusing on: Generational farming, environmental stewardship, research & innovation, economic & rural prosperity, and animal emergency preparedness.”

This recap offers a chance to learn how MFBF helped shape agriculture policy this session while supporting communities across Minnesota.
