University of Minnesota Hosts 2026 ARC and PLC Webinar

University of Minnesota Hosts 2026 ARC and PLC Webinar

By Scout Nelson

The University of Minnesota Extension will host a webinar on November 17, 2026, to help farmers and agricultural stakeholders understand their options under the USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) Agriculture Risk Coverage (ARC) and Price Loss Coverage (PLC) programs. The session will focus on key considerations for making 2026 crop year elections and managing farm risk.

The webinar will run from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. CST and will cover program updates, 2025 payment outcomes, and decision-making strategies for the 2026 crop year. The goal is to help producers make informed choices before the enrollment deadline.

ARC and PLC programs provide financial protection when crop prices decline or farm revenues fall below certain levels. Understanding these programs can help farmers select coverage options that best fit their operations and financial objectives.

Participants will learn about available enrollment choices, including ARC-County, PLC, and ARC-Individual coverage. The webinar will explain the benefits and considerations of each option to support farm-level decision-making.

Farmers have until December 11, 2026, to complete elections and enrollments through their local USDA FSA offices. Producers who do not make a new election may retain their previous selection but could lose payment eligibility if enrollment requirements are not completed.

The session will also discuss practical strategies for managing market and revenue risks. These insights can help producers strengthen financial planning and improve long-term farm stability.

Registration is available online, and the webinar will be recorded for future viewing. Accommodation requests and accessibility services are available through the event organizers.

The educational event reflects ongoing efforts to provide Minnesota producers with timely resources and guidance for participating in federal farm programs and making informed business decisions.
