The Garden Gathering event is organized to bring together people interested in gardening for an evening of education, connection, and seasonal planning. The event will take place on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m. Central Time at the Kandiyohi County Health and Human Services Building in Willmar, Minnesota.
This event will include presentations, handouts, and door prizes, making it both informative and engaging for participants. It is open to all individuals who want to learn more about gardening and improve their skills for the upcoming growing season.
The evening will follow a structured schedule to guide participants through different learning sessions:
- 5:30-6 p.m. - Check in
- 6-6:10 p.m. - Introduction
- 6:10-7 p.m. - Laura Irish-Hanson: Plant Propagation 101
- 7-7:15 p.m. - Break
- 7:15 - 8 p.m. - Matt & Laura Moraczewski: Growing Community with Community Gardens
- 8 - 8:10 p.m. - Conclusion and Door Prizes
These sessions will provide practical knowledge about plant growth and highlight the value of community gardens in building stronger local connections. The event aims to support both beginners and experienced gardeners by offering simple and useful information.
Participants are encouraged to register early. The registration fee is $20 if completed by April 13, while the cost will be $25 at the door. However, registration is encouraged but not required.
The organizers are committed to making the event accessible to all. Anyone needing accommodations is advised to contact the event coordinator at least two weeks in advance. Interpreter services may also be arranged with prior notice.
