Attention Minnesota livestock farmers and ranchers! The Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) is rolling out an exciting opportunity for you to upgrade and expand your operations.
The Agricultural Growth, Research, and Innovation (AGRI) Livestock Investment Grant is back, and applications are open for those looking to make significant improvements to their farms.
Whether you're planning to construct new facilities, purchase state-of-the-art equipment, or implement advanced management systems, this grant can help cover a portion of your project costs.
Eligible investments cover a wide range of needs, from building upgrades to the acquisition of cutting-edge feed and waste management equipment, ensuring your livestock thrive in the best conditions possible.
This year, the MDA has allocated up to $650,000 for the Livestock Investment Grants, offering up to $25,000 per project. The grants aim to support the start, improvement, or expansion of livestock operations, reflecting the MDA's commitment to enhancing Minnesota's agricultural landscape.
Eligibility extends to all principal operators of livestock farms in Minnesota, with a broad definition of livestock that includes everything from beef and dairy cattle to more exotic animals like bison and emus.
While previous recipients can apply, priority will be given to first-time applicants, ensuring a wider spread of benefits across the farming community.
Applications are accepted until 4 p.m. Central Time on Thursday, May 2, 2024. For more information and to apply, visit the AGRI Livestock Investment Grant webpage. Don't miss this chance to elevate your livestock operation and contribute to Minnesota's rich agricultural tradition with the support of the MDA's AGRI Program.
