The Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation (MFBF) has once again earned the prestigious American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) New Horizon Award. This recognition, for the most innovative state Farm Bureau programs, was presented at the 105th AFBF Annual Convention in Salt Lake City.
The MFBF's standout achievement is the Ag Day Gala. This annual event, held on National Ag Day, has become a cornerstone in celebrating Minnesota's agricultural heritage.
The gala brings together farmers, organizations, businesses, and communities, showcasing the collective effort behind the state's agricultural success. With two consecutive sell-out years, the gala's popularity is undeniable.
Ruth Meirick, Foundation Director of MFBF, expressed gratitude for the AFBF's recognition of the gala, which showcases Minnesota's agricultural diversity through local spirits, hand-crafted auction items, FFA student decorations, entertainment from a former 4-H member, and a locally sourced menu, highlighting the state's unity and diversity.
The next Ag Day Gala is scheduled for March 19, 2024, at the North End Events Center on the Minnesota State Fairgrounds.
Minnesota was awarded the Award of Excellence for its exceptional achievements in advocacy, partnerships, engagement, outreach, and business development, among 34 states. This recognition further solidifies Minnesota's position as a leader in advancing agricultural practices and community building.
