Amanda Cook of Chisago County made a significant mark at the American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) Annual Convention in Salt Lake City, earning a place in the Top 10 of the Young Farmers & Ranchers (YF&R) Excellence in Ag Award. This recognition came during the convention's closing session, highlighting her outstanding contributions to agriculture.
Cook reflected on her journey, emphasizing how the contest experience was both humbling and rewarding. It provided her with a deeper appreciation for community and leadership roles within the Farm Bureau. Representing Minnesota at this national level was a notable honor for her.
Amanda, along with her husband Adam, run a multi-generational family farm in Center City, known for sheep raising, wool and crafting kit sales, and meat.
They have also been involved in the community, reviving an agricultural education program, founding a new FFA chapter, and launching an agricultural education exhibit at the Chisago County Fair.
Amanda's success in a national contest has motivated her to continue making significant contributions to her community, thanks to the support and encouragement from the Farm Bureau family and staff, and her unwavering commitment to advocating for agriculture.
The Excellence in Agriculture contest acknowledges young farmers who actively participate in agriculture and Farm Bureau activities, despite not generating most of their income from agricultural operations. Amanda Cook's success in this contest demonstrates her dedication to the agricultural community.
