Cool temperatures and snowfall limited farmers to 4.6 days suitable for fieldwork during the week ending Sunday, according to the USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service. Field activities for the week included completing corn harvest and tilling.
Topsoil moisture supplies were rated 1 percent very short, 11 percent short, 79 percent adequate and 9 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies were rated 5 percent very short, 19 percent short, 70 percent adequate and 6 percent surplus.
Corn harvested for grain reached 99 percent.
