Farmfest 2026 brought together farmers, families, elected officials and agriculture supporters for an annual event celebrating farming and rural communities in Minnesota.
Held at Gilfillan Estate near Morgan, the event provided an opportunity for people involved in agriculture to connect, share ideas and discuss important issues affecting farms.
A major highlight of this year’s event was a roundtable discussion and press event with USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins. The meeting took place at the Minnesota Corn tent and focused on several efforts to support farmers.
USDA announced listening sessions across the country to gather feedback from farmers as it works on a Data Modernization Plan across several agencies.
The USDA Risk Management Agency also announced two crop insurance changes. Farmers received an additional 60 interest-free days to pay crop insurance premiums. The agency also restored an option that provides an additional 5% in prevented-planting coverage.
Farmfest also provided a platform for political discussions. Candidates for Congress, governor and Senate took part in forums ahead of Minnesota’s primary election. Elected officials and candidates met with farmer leaders to discuss farm conditions, agricultural policies and issues affecting farm families.
Beyond policy and business discussions, Farmfest continued to offer activities that brought the agricultural community together. Minnesota Corn staff and farmer leaders served free sweet corn ice cream, giving visitors a popular summer treat.
