Minnesota NDSU Athletes to be Awarded Scholarships



Scholarships will be awarded to 24 North Dakota State University athletes during this year's Harvest Bowl program on Nov. 19.

Highlights of the event include a Harvest Bowl dinner and awards program on Nov. 19 at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Fargo, and the Harvest Bowl football game between NDSU and the University of South Dakota on Nov. 20.

Minnesota Harvest Bowl scholarship awardees, sport, hometown and major are:

- Patrick Benedict Memorial Harvest Bowl Scholarship Endowment - Austin Brenner is a redshirt junior wrestler on the NDSU Wrestling team from St. Cloud, Minn., majoring in agricultural economics. He is the son of Mark and Annie Brenner.

- Harvest Bowl Scholarship - Joshua Streit is a freshman forward for the NDSU Basketball team from Watkins, Minn., majoring in agribusiness. He is the son of Richard and Sue Streit.

- Harvest Bowl Scholarship in honor of Robert Johansen - Mason Miller is a sophomore offensive tackle on the NDSU Football team from Ada, Minn., majoring in general agriculture. He is the son of Paul and Dawn Miller.

- LeVon C. Kirkeide and Friends Harvest Bowl Scholarship/Hefty Seeds Harvest Bowl Scholarship - Andrew Morgan is a freshman forward for the NDSU Basketball team from Waseca, Minn., majoring in agribusiness. His parents are Keith and Lori Morgan.

- Darrell Larson Family Scholarship/Hefty Seeds Harvest Bowl Scholarship - Travis Yohnke is a sophomore tight end on the NDSU Football team from Carlos, Minn., majoring in animal science. His parents are Chuck and Sandy Yohnke.

The NDSU Harvest Bowl program recognizes the success, dedication and hard work of outstanding agriculturists in 53 counties in North Dakota and 10 counties in western Minnesota.

An agribusiness award recipient is chosen annually. This award recognizes individuals who have distinguished themselves in the field of agriculture and business in North Dakota and beyond.

Eddie Bernhardson, past Harvest Bowl chair and retired University of Minnesota Extension agent in Clay County, will receive the 2021 award.
