Soybean Checkoff Dollars at Work

Soybean Checkoff Dollars at Work

Get ready for an exciting and futuristic experience at this year's Farmfest, happening from Aug. 1-3! Minnesota Soybean is set to amaze visitors with its cutting-edge booth, featuring reality and two "future farmers" who will take you on a journey through time to demonstrate the long-term impact of soybean checkoff investments.

The Minnesota Soybean Research & Promotion Council (MSR&PC) is using augmented reality at booth #620 to showcase future farmers and their impact on research, new uses, and markets. Visitors can scan, view, and listen to these farmers, learning about the revolutionizing soybean industry for generations to come.

MSR&PC CEO Tom Slunecka emphasizes the council's focus on value-added products and emerging markets like Uzbekistan. The checkoff funds projects with lasting impacts, such as opening new markets and exploring innovative uses for soybean meals.

The Minnesota Soybean Growers Association (MSGA) is making waves with its advocacy initiatives. At Farmfest, they are selling 500 raffle tickets for a custom 2023 Polaris Ranger Crew 1000 Premium side-by-side, with proceeds supporting MSGA's nonpartisan mission to advocate for farm-friendly policies in St. Paul and Washington, D.C.

Expected to attend Farmfest are state and national legislative leaders and 2024 candidates, eager to connect with farmer-leaders and understand the challenges facing Minnesota agriculture. MSGA President Bob Worth will join a Farm Bill panel to discuss critical issues impacting farmers.

For those interested in supporting MSGA's initiatives, becoming a member is a great way to get involved. At the booth, new or renewing members will receive a free t-shirt and the chance to win a DeWalt ½ inch high torque impact wrench.

Farmfest, held at the historic Gilfillan Estate in Morgan for over 50 years, is Minnesota's premier outdoor farm event, spanning 50 acres of land and featuring over 500 exhibitors and vendors.

Don't miss this opportunity to witness the future of farming and advocacy in action at Farmfest 2023. With augmented reality and an array of farm-friendly initiatives, Minnesota Soybean and MSGA are planting the seeds for a prosperous future for farmers and the soybean industry.
