The University of Minnesota Extension will host a webinar on October 2, 2026, focused on agrivoltaic systems that combine agricultural production with solar energy generation. The event will explore how renewable energy projects can be integrated with farming operations to improve land-use efficiency.
As part of the university's agrivoltaics webinar series, researchers will discuss current studies examining the relationship between solar infrastructure and agricultural productivity. The session will highlight practical applications of agrivoltaics and their potential benefits for farmers and the renewable energy sector.
Featured presentations will showcase agrivoltaics research involving dairy cattle production in Brazil and crop cultivation systems in France. These international case studies will provide examples of how agricultural activities can operate alongside solar energy development under different production environments.
The webinar is intended for farmers, solar developers, government officials, researchers and academics interested in agriculture and renewable energy. Participants will gain insights into current research trends and emerging opportunities within the agrivoltaics industry.
