Minnesota Cattle Industry Convention an Event for Everyone

The 2017 Minnesota Cattle Industry convention is an event that brings together farmers, ranchers and beef industry professionals for continuing education, policy development, and industry wide networking. The Minnesota State Cattlemen's Association, along with other beef industry organizations, will host the 2017 annual convention and trade show Dec. 1-2 at the Double Tree Hotel in Bloomington. Convention highlights include MSCA's annual Cattlemen's College series featuring both a cow-calf and feedyard focused session. Additionally, attendees will participate in membership meetings and networking opportunities with fellow cattlemen and local, state and national leaders and beef industry professionals.

Special guest appearances will be made by Kevin Kester, National Cattlemen's Beef Association President-Elect, along with multiple agriculture industry leaders and elected officials from across the state. Other convention highlights include MSCA and MN Cattlewomen Association annual meetings, Live & Silent Auctions, setting of 2018 legislative priorities, and excellent networking opportunities with legislators, government agencies, beef industry professionals and fellow cattle producers.

New for 2017 is the addition of the MSCA Young Cattlemen's Leadership Academy. The MSCA Young Cattlemen's Leadership Academy is targeted for students ages 16 -- 21. The program is designed to assist young members gain additional experience through industry exposure, education, and association communication. The two hour seminar is designed to expose participants to leaders from segments of the industry off of the farm or ranch including: policy development, industry advocacy, leadership development and industry communications. The seminars will incorporate world class speakers from the Minnesota Cattle Industry Convention speaker lineup and provide participants the opportunity to further explore the beef business, gain essential information, and network with local, state and national beef industry members. This is any excellent opportunity to become a better informed and prepared future leader of the cattle industry.
