Farmers, agronomists, and agricultural professionals interested in conservation tillage practices are invited to attend the 2026 Strip-Till Expo on September 9,2026 at the Southwest Research and Outreach Center (SWROC) in Lamberton, Minnesota. Led by University of Minnesota Extension Educators Liz Stahl and Jodi DeJong-Hughes, the event aims to help producers reduce input costs, maintain yields, and improve farm resilience through strip-tillage practices.
The Expo will run from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and feature presentations from experienced strip-till farmers, University of Minnesota researchers, and agricultural specialists. Participants will learn about the advantages and challenges of strip-till systems through educational sessions and field-based demonstrations.
A key highlight of the event will be live demonstrations of 12 strip-till rigs operating side by side under the same field conditions. Attendees will be able to compare equipment performance and observe impacts on soil conditions, water infiltration, residue management, and wind erosion risk.
Educational sessions will cover topics such as strip-till adoption, cover crop integration, nutrient management, and planter setup for high-residue environments. Experts from the University of Minnesota Extension, University of Wisconsin Extension, and agricultural organizations will share practical insights and research-based information.
The program will also include a farmer panel featuring Minnesota producers who have experience with strip-tillage systems. Discussions will focus on profitability, soil conservation, operational efficiency, and strategies for improving cropping resilience.
Attendees will have opportunities to visit exhibits, connect with industry representatives, and network with fellow farmers and crop advisers. The event is free to attend, and organizers encourage preregistration to assist with planning and meal arrangements.
