Minnesota Extension Webinar Covers WPS Safety Requirements

Minnesota Extension Webinar Covers WPS Safety Requirements

By Scout Nelson

University of Minnesota Extension will host a webinar on November 19, 2026, to help agricultural employers and pesticide handlers understand and comply with the Worker Protection Standard (WPS). The online session will provide an overview of federal safety requirements designed to protect agricultural workers from pesticide exposure.

The webinar will run from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. CDT and will cover key aspects of WPS compliance. Participants will learn about worker safety responsibilities, training requirements, and important regulations that apply to agricultural operations.

Designed for pesticide applicators, farmers, and growers, the session will offer practical guidance on maintaining safe and compliant workplaces. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions and receive clarification on compliance-related topics.

Participants may request free printed materials to support their understanding of WPS requirements and workplace safety practices. These resources can help agricultural professionals apply compliance measures more effectively in their daily operations.

The webinar is free to attend, and registered participants will receive access information before the event. The online format makes it convenient for agricultural professionals to gain regulatory knowledge without traveling.

The University of Minnesota Extension also provides accommodations for individuals with disabilities and may offer interpreter services upon advance request. For additional information, interested participants can contact Jolene Warnke.
