Minnesota Hosts Key Soil Health Event

Minnesota Hosts Key Soil Health Event

By Scout Nelson

The Premier Soil Health Event, hosted by the Minnesota Soil Health Coalition, will take place on December 2–3 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center in Mankato. This annual event brings together national, regional, and local soil health experts to share practical knowledge and tools that can help improve agricultural operations across Minnesota.

The program is designed to support producers, conservation professionals, and anyone interested in soil stewardship. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn directly from experienced soil health practitioners who have spent years studying soil systems and applying regenerative practices on working lands. The Minnesota Farmers Union is a proud sponsor of this event.

The Premier Soil Health Event focuses on building strong connections within the agricultural community. Participants will be able to network with other producers, connect with soil health mentors, and hear from long-time practitioners who understand the challenges and opportunities associated with improving soil conditions. The event encourages shared learning, helping attendees develop strategies that work in real-world settings.

Presentations and sessions at the event will cover a range of topics relevant to soil function, conservation, and farm resilience. Experts will discuss soil-building techniques, crop system improvements, regenerative practices, and methods to increase productivity while protecting natural resources.

These discussions aim to equip attendees with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions that can benefit both their land and their long-term profitability.

The venue for the event is the Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center, located at 1 Civic Center Plaza, Mankato, Minnesota 56001. To learn more or to register, visitors can explore the event website at: https://www.mnsoilhealth.org/premier-soil-health-event/.

With a combination of expert-led learning, mentor support, and community building, the Premier Soil Health Event remains one of Minnesota’s key opportunities to deepen understanding of soil conservation and sustainable agricultural practices.
