Fred Troendle, a longtime member of the Minnesota FFA Alumni and Supporters, will be honored with the 2024 National FFA Alumni and Supporters Outstanding Member Award. Troendle, a member of the St. Charles FFA Alumni chapter, will receive the award during the 97th National FFA Convention and Expo on Friday, October 25.
This prestigious award is given to no more than three individuals nationwide each year, recognizing their leadership and service to agricultural education, FFA, and FFA Alumni.
Troendle’s dedication to agricultural education has impacted many individuals and organizations throughout Minnesota and beyond. His journey began with his own experience in FFA, which led him to earn a degree in Agricultural Education from the University of Minnesota.
He taught and advised FFA chapters at Fulda and St. Charles High Schools for ten years before moving on to serve as a National FFA Southeast Regional Representative.
After starting a financial investment business in St. Charles, Troendle remained an active FFA supporter and became deeply involved with the St. Charles FFA Alumni. His leadership has positively influenced both youth and adults for over 40 years.
In addition to his work with FFA, Troendle founded the President’s Circle Leadership Program in 2015. This initiative has impacted over 130 participants, helping them develop leadership skills.
Fred and his wife Sandra have also supported various FFA programs financially, including the Jim Ertl Agricultural Education Proficiency Fund and the Minnesota FFA Foundation’s golf tournament.
The Minnesota FFA Alumni and Supporters are grateful for Fred’s enduring contributions to FFA and congratulate him on receiving the 2024 National Outstanding Member Award.
