Swine Health Webinar Program Was Launched

By Scout Nelson

SowBridge has launched a national online education series designed to support people who manage or care for sows, their litters, and boars. The program delivers expert-led webinars that provide accurate, research-based information to improve animal health, workforce skills, and farm efficiency.

The webinar series is open to farm owners, employees, technicians, managers, and technical service providers involved in swine production. It offers a structured learning opportunity that fits busy work schedules.

Participants register once each year and receive access to monthly webinars delivered through Zoom. Sessions generally take place on the first Wednesday of every month from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Central Time. Recordings are available online for six months after each live session, allowing participants to review lessons at any time.

The 2026 SowBridge program includes expert presentations on important swine management topics. These sessions cover sow health, litter care, gilt feeding strategies, water quality, semen management, disease research, and employee well-being. Each topic is presented by specialists from leading universities and industry organizations across the United States.

Registration for the 2026 program year is currently open. The series runs from February 4, 2026, through January 6, 2027, and includes twelve monthly webinars. The registration deadline is January 15, 2026, to ensure access to materials for the February session.

The cost of the program is $200 for the first registration from a farm entity. Additional registrations from the same farm entity are available at half the cost. Registration is handled through Iowa State University.

SowBridge is supported by a cooperative group of universities from major swine-producing states. The program is coordinated through the University of Minnesota and Iowa State University, ensuring high-quality content and strong educational standards.

Overall, SowBridge provides a valuable learning opportunity that supports better swine care, stronger workforce skills, and improved productivity across livestock operations.
