In 2023, non-irrigated cropland cash rents in Minnesota marked an average of $198.00 per acre, showcasing a $13.00 rise from the previous year, as per the recent USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service report. Meanwhile, the cash rent for pastures also witnessed a climb, settling at $30.00 per acre – a $3.00 increment from 2022.
Sibley County led the chart with the highest published cash rent for such croplands, standing at $285.00 per acre. Martin County trailed closely, posting a cash rent of $280.00 per acre. The subsequent top counties in the list were Dodge, Faribault, and Blue Earth. On the contrary, St. Louis County registered the lowest average for non-irrigated cropland cash rent with $14.00 per acre.
Turning to pastures, Freeborn County took the top spot in Minnesota with the highest published cash rent of $68.00 per acre. Pipestone County followed with a cash rent of $61.50 per acre, while Carlton County settled at the bottom with the lowest cash rent for pastures, marked at $4.70 per acre.
