Renville County was the highest-ranking county for corn for grain production with 43.4 million bushels produced.
Redwood, Martin, Faribault, and Nobles rounded out the top five. Other counties with production of more than 35 million bushels were Freeborn, Blue Earth, Jackson, and Murray.
Waseca led all counties with an average yield of 213.7 bushels per acre. Watonwan (210.1), Nicollet (209.5), Freeborn (208.1), and Rock (207.9) counties rounded out the top five. Sixteen counties surpassed the 200 bushel mark in 2021.
Yields are derived from production divided by area harvested. Only published estimates were considered in rankings of counties.
