Two dairy farms from southeastern Minnesota are set to compete in the 2025 United States Championship Cheese Contest®, a prestigious national competition recognizing excellence in dairy production.
Dairy Farmers of America, based in Zumbrota, along with Prairie Farms Dairy, Inc., which operates in Faribault and Rochester, have entered their products for evaluation. These submissions are among 2,414 entries spanning 117 categories of dairy products.
The competition will take place from March 4 to March 6 at Resch Expo in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Organized every two years by the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association since 1981, this event is the largest contest in the U.S. for cheese, butter, cultured products, and dry dairy ingredients.
“We’re pleased to see dairy manufacturers across the country take advantage of this chance to improve their craftsmanship, grow their businesses, and achieve one of the cheese industry's highest honors,” said Kirsten Strohmenger, Contest Director. “We wish these entrants from the Rochester area – and all those participating – the best of luck!”
The competition highlights the craftsmanship of dairy producers across the country, offering recognition for high-quality products. Winning entries can gain national attention, helping dairy businesses grow and innovate.
