Jeff Vetsch, Southern Research and Outreach Center (SROC) Researcher will start the day and discuss optimum nitrogen rates for corn in southern MN. Melissa Wilson, UM Nutrient Management Specialist will present on nutrient availability of manure. Dan Kaiser, UM Extension Nutrient Management Specialist will explain how sulfur source and timing affects the yield response to sulfur in corn. Anibal Cerrundo, a visiting soybean agronomist from Argentina (he’s working with Seth Naeve) will discuss research on the critical period for yield determination in soybeans. Jeff Coulter, UM Extension Corn Agronomist will talk about mid-season application of nitrogen and sulfur for corn. Tom Hoverstad, SROC Researcher will wrap up the event talking about weed management in corn and soybeans.
