By Scout Nelson

The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Minnesota has opened applications for the 2024 Morrison Swine Innovator Prize. This annual award commemorates the significant contributions of Dr. Bob Morrison to the swine veterinary field. It seeks to foster innovation and leadership among Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) students who aspire to advance the swine industry.

The prize aims to inspire future swine industry leaders by connecting them with established professionals. It supports creative problem-solving and enhances networking opportunities within the industry, thereby promoting a commitment to education and innovation in veterinary practices.

Eligible veterinary students must submit their applications by August 15, 2024. Selected finalists will present their innovative projects at the Allen D. Leman Swine Conference on September 22, 2024. The presentations will emphasize problem-solving and clinical skills. The most creative and original presentations will be highlighted.

Finalists will receive a $1,000 stipend and complimentary admission to the conference, offering an excellent platform for students to showcase their ideas and connect with industry leaders.

Interested students are encouraged to apply here. This opportunity not only honors Dr. Morrison’s impactful legacy but also propels promising veterinary students into future leadership roles within the swine industry.
