Bayer and M2i Expand Global Crop Protection Deal

Bayer and M2i Expand Global Crop Protection Deal

By Jamie Martin

Bayer has expanded its global partnership with French-based M2i Group to distribute pheromone-based biological crop protection products in new regions, including Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and the United States. This moves builds on a successful 2023 partnership in Europe and Africa.

The collaboration focuses on pheromone gels designed to combat lepidoptera pests and sucking insects in key crops like tomatoes, grapes, and stone fruits. These products offer a sustainable alternative with minimal chemical residues, helping farmers manage pests responsibly.

“Effective products with low or no residue are an important part of Bayer’s biological portfolio. Through these strategic partnerships, we are able to broaden the crop protection toolbox and farmers have more solutions available that they can apply in their farm operations,” stated Ralf Glaubitz of Bayer.

M2i Group’s unique Press technology delivers pheromones in a long-lasting gel applied directly to plants, reducing plastic use and simplifying pest management. M2i CEO Phillippe Guerret commented, “We are excited to see such an innovation distributed on a worldwide scale.”

Since launching the partnership, products like the VYNYTY Press series have been successfully introduced in Europe and Africa. In Chile, the Press method has been used effectively on wine and table grapes, demonstrating positive results in pest control.

M2i Group, established in 2012, leads Europe in pheromone technology, with strong research capabilities and multiple patents. Bayer, known for its innovation in life sciences, focuses on combining advanced research with sustainable agricultural practices.

This extended collaboration highlights Bayer’s commitment to innovation, sustainable farming, and global agricultural partnerships, ensuring farmers worldwide have access to effective, eco-friendly pest control solutions.
