The Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) has announced a consumer recall for specific beef products from Thousand Hills Local Farms, sold at Lakewinds Food Co-op in Richfield. The recall is due to reports of metal shot or BBs found within beef products.
Recall Details:
Location: Lakewinds Food Co-op, 6420 Lyndale Ave S., Richfield
Affected Lot Codes: 25024 and 25034
Products Recalled: Bottom round roasts, stew meat, top round steaks and roasts, stir fry meat, sirloin tip steaks and roasts, eye of round steaks and roasts, and ground beef.
This precautionary recall was initiated after staff at the Richfield Lakewinds location and a customer discovered metal particles in the meat. The source of the contamination has not been identified.
Consumers who have purchased these products are advised to either discard them or return them to the purchase location for a full refund. The recall only affects beef from the specified lot codes; no other products from Thousand Hills or other Lakewinds Food Co-op beef products are currently known to be affected.
