The University of Minnesota Extension Beef Team and the Minnesota State Cattlemen's Association will host the 2022 Minnesota Summer Tour, a fun and educational event where attendees will have the opportunity to visit the UMN St. Paul Campus and the Minnesota Zoo, 13000 Zoo Blvd., Apple Valley.
Stops on the July 12 tour will include:
- UMN Andrew Boss Laboratory of Meat Science: hanging carcass evaluation, cutting demos
- UMN College of Veterinary Medicine: Leatherdale Equine Center, UMN Vet School Tradeshow
- UMN Forage Research plots: 30 different forage species, research plot machinery hill
The tour wraps up with a visit to the Minnesota Zoo where attendees will have exclusive access to the entire zoo from 4 to 8 p.m.
Lunch and supper will be provided.
Check-in begins at 6 a.m. All buses will leave from the Minnesota Zoo at 7 a.m.
Cost is $15 for UMN students showing their ID at the door, $30 at the door and children age 2 and under free.
