Cultivating the future - special workshop launch for Minnesota's young farmers

By Scout Nelson

In an innovative move, the Minnesota Soybean Growers Association (MSGA), with Profinium's support, announces the launch of the MN Young & Emerging Farmer Workshop. This groundbreaking event, set for January 16-18 during the MN AG EXPO in Mankato, is tailored for farmers early in their careers, providing practical sessions on vital farming topics.

The initiative, a first for MSGA, underscores the commitment to nurturing young talents in agriculture. MSGA President Bob Worth expressed enthusiasm about this forward-looking project, emphasizing the pivotal role young farmers play in the future of agriculture.

Profinium, the workshop's main sponsor, joins in this visionary project, with CEO Ron Kopischke articulating the company's dedication to communal dream realization. This collaboration is further bolstered by other local organizations like Blethen Berens, Minnesota Farm Bureau, Crystal Valley, and the Minnesota Soybean Research & Promotion Council.

Designed for active farmers aged 21-45 in Minnesota, the workshop not only promises education but also practical farm management skills. The diverse agenda covers critical areas like financial planning, loan options, tax strategies, grain marketing, fertilizer programs, agricultural policy impacts, and succession planning.

Participants also gain exclusive access to the MN AG EXPO's keynote addresses and trade show insights, coupled with invaluable networking sessions. Click here for the full agenda.

Adam Guetter, a prominent figure on the American Soybean Association board and MSGA Director, highlights the workshop's significance in fostering not just education but leadership within the state's soybean industry.

Interested individuals must undergo a brief application process, with acceptance on a first-come-first-served basis, up to 40 participants. The workshop is free.

This venture is a significant step in shaping the future of agriculture in Minnesota and beyond, ensuring young farmers are well-prepared to face the industry's evolving challenges.
