Leadership from the Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation is available for interviews from May 19 through May 21 to review the outcomes of the 2026 Minnesota legislative session and discuss important issues affecting agriculture and rural communities across the state. Interviews will be available throughout the day by phone, Zoom, or in person upon request.
The organization’s leadership and public policy staff will provide updates about legislative activity, agriculture policy discussions, and member engagement efforts completed during the session. Topics will include advocacy work at the State Capitol, legislative decisions impacting agriculture and rural communities, and outreach activities involving members across Minnesota.
The Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation maintained a strong presence at the State Capitol during the legislative session. Representatives regularly met with elected officials, provided testimony on agricultural matters, and discussed policies connected to farming, rural development, and local economies. The organization worked to ensure that the voices of rural communities and agricultural producers were represented during policy discussions.
One major event highlighted during the session was MFBF’s Day on the Hill held during National Agriculture Day in March. More than 180 members traveled to meet with lawmakers and discuss agriculture’s importance to Minnesota’s economy. The event gave members an opportunity to explain challenges facing rural communities while encouraging conversations about agricultural priorities and future policies.
In addition to legislative meetings, Farm Bureau members organized district events and farm tours across Minnesota. These activities allowed lawmakers and community leaders to visit farms and gain firsthand experience with agricultural operations, production challenges, and rural economic concerns. The tours also helped strengthen communication between policymakers and the agricultural community.
MFBF leaders are expected to discuss how recent legislative outcomes may influence farming operations, rural businesses, and community development efforts across Minnesota. The organization continues working with lawmakers, agricultural groups, and local leaders to support policies that strengthen agriculture and rural communities throughout the state.
