Farming Innovations Shine at MN Ag Expo

By Scout Nelson

The MN Ag Expo 2025, Minnesota’s premier winter agriculture event, concluded with two days of engaging activities in Mankato. Hosted by Minnesota Corn and Minnesota Soybean, the event offered farmers opportunities to learn, network, and explore agricultural innovations.

The annual meetings for the Minnesota Corn Growers Association (MCGA) and Minnesota Soybean Growers Association (MSGA) served as key highlights. MCGA delegates finalized their 2025 resolutions and elected new board members. Additionally, awards were presented to honour outstanding contributions to agriculture and the organization.

The trade show featured an interactive Minnesota Corn booth, showcasing checkoff-funded research projects and grassroots activities.

Visitors enjoyed hands-on insights into ongoing agricultural initiatives and received special giveaways. A dedicated area near the booth highlighted projects funded by the corn checkoff, with farmers and researchers engaging attendees on innovative efforts.

Panel discussions and keynote speeches enriched the Expo experience. Topics included grain marketing, sustainable aviation fuel, trade policy, and farmer mental health. Notable speakers included leaders from state agriculture departments, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, and organizations like the American Soybean Association.

Evening sessions included a keynote by Rob Sharkey, sharing his journey as a TV and radio personality, and a popular MCGA auction and reception.

The event emphasized education and innovation, with discussions on emerging challenges like sustainable practices and mental health. Keynote addresses and panels provided actionable insights for farmers and agriculture enthusiasts.

MN Ag Expo 2025 concluded with heartfelt thanks to attendees for making the event a success. For details on upcoming events, visit mncorn.org/events.
