Future of Ag - meet The Herd

Future of Ag - meet The Herd

By Scout Nelson

The Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation is thrilled to introduce the latest participants in its innovative "The Herd" initiative. This program, crafted for young adults aged 18-23 who are passionate about agriculture and social media, aims to develop future leaders in agricultural communication.

This year's class is comprised of four promising individuals: Aly Dieball, Katelyn Kobbermann, Lily Krona, and Mary Lanoue. Each brings a unique background and a shared enthusiasm for the agricultural sector.

Aly Dieball is currently a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, where she studies dairy science with a minor in agriculture business.

A former Princess Kay of the Milky Way finalist and an active participant in both 4-H and FFA, Aly hails from Green Isle, Minnesota. She plays an integral role in her family’s robotic dairy farm.

Katelyn Kobbermann, a native of Pope County, grew up immersed in a farming environment that included beef cattle, pigs, sheep, and crops. Presently, she is furthering her education in animal science at Mitchell Technical College and aims to pursue a degree in ag business.

Lily Krona, attending the University of Minnesota - Crookston, is majoring in agricultural education. Her commitment to educating future generations about agriculture is evident through her leadership in various agricultural clubs and her participation in the university’s trap team.

Mary Lanoue, a freshman at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities, is pursuing a degree in agriculture communications and marketing. Growing up on a cow/calf operation in Marshall, Minnesota, Mary developed a keen interest in agricultural advocacy and now manages a herd of market goats.

These young leaders are set to share their agriculture stories and insights via social media. Follow their journeys and learn more about the impact of agriculture on their lives and communities.
