The Minnesota Corn Research & Promotion Council (MCR&PC) officially welcomed its 2022-23 leadership team into their new positions.
Clarkfield farmer Doug Albin is serving as MCR&PC chair in 2022-23. Gary Prescher is serving as vice chair, Duane Epland is serving as treasurer and John Mages is serving as secretary. Their terms run through June 30, 2023.
Albin served on the Minnesota Corn Growers Association (MCGA) board of directors from 2001-09 before being elected to the council. In 2015-16, he served as council chair for a first time.
Prescher grows corn and soybeans in Delavan, Epland grows corn and soybeans in Twin Lakes, and Mages grows corn and soybeans in Belgrade.
MCR&PC is responsible for the effective management of the Minnesota corn check-off. Each year, MCR&PC members invest corn check-off funds in programs and initiatives aimed at boosting on-farm profitability and sustainability while enhancing quality of life for corn farmers and all Minnesotans.
