Minnesota is set to host a series of educational events under its Field Crop Research Updates in 2025. These gatherings, led by Bob Koch of the Institute for Ag Professionals, aim to provide ag professionals and growers with the latest research-driven advice and strategies to tackle contemporary agricultural challenges.
Scheduled throughout January 2025, the Research Updates will take place across five locations in Minnesota, including Waseca, Oronoco, Willmar, Lamberton, and Crookston. Each location will host discussions tailored to regional agricultural interests, providing a platform for attendees to interact directly with university researchers and industry experts.
The agenda kicks off on January 7 in Waseca, with subsequent sessions in Oronoco on January 9, Willmar on January 14, Lamberton on January 15, and concluding in Crookston on January 16.
The Waseca and Lamberton events will feature an expanded program, catering to both ag professionals and crop producers, offering an in-depth look at the latest developments in pest management, crop diseases, and agronomic practices.
Highlighting the importance of these updates, Bob Koch emphasized their role in disseminating crucial, research-based information that addresses the dynamic nature of pests, diseases, and crop management in the context of current environmental and nutrient recommendations.
The University of Minnesota's commitment to agricultural education is further demonstrated through its Field School, slated for July 29-30 on the St. Paul Campus, and the Crop Pest Management Short Course scheduled for December.
These educational initiatives underscore the university's dedication to advancing agricultural knowledge and practices, ensuring that Minnesota’s agricultural community remains at the forefront of innovation and efficiency.
