The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has announced the availability of grants for lake associations and other groups. These grants are specifically aimed at projects that manage invasive aquatic plants, which pose a threat to native plant diversity and lake recreation.
Interested groups can begin submitting their applications starting from 12:01 a.m. on Friday, November 17, with a deadline set for 9 a.m. on Monday, December 11. Unlike the process for the 2023 grants, applicants won't need an invasive aquatic plant management permit at the time of applying for the grant. Permits can be obtained after receiving a grant, as part of the grant work plan.
