On August 27, 2023, from 4:00-8:00 p.m., the Minnesota FFA Foundation will be in the spotlight. Their 4th Annual Great Minnesota Give Together telethon goes live, broadcasting from the Christensen Farms Stage at the Minnesota State Fair. It's also accessible on their YouTube channel.
The excitement stems from growth in FFA Chapters and AFNR programs, with 32 new chapters emerging in just five years. Over 40,000 students are currently enrolled in AFNR, with numbers continuing to rise.
For co-hosts the telethon is more than just a fundraiser. It's a stage to recount tales of transformation. Through FFA, students not only discover agriculture but also cultivate leadership skills important for their future and community.
Throughout the four-hour event, attendees can anticipate heartfelt stories, inspiring performances, and key insights from the heart of Minnesota's agricultural community. This telethon, is two-fold. While it underscores the essence of agricultural education, it also encourages viewers to contribute to the cause. By either visiting mnffafoundation.org or texting MNFFA to 71777, donations can be made. Generosity comes with its perks, including chances to snag Luke Bryan concert tickets and other prizes.
Support doesn't just echo from the audience. AT&T shines as the Purple Ribbon Sponsor. The Blue Ribbon category boasts of names like AgCountry Farm Credit Services, CoBank, and Land O’Lakes. The matching funds challenge adds zest to the event, promising to double the impact of the first five thousand dollars donated.
As Minnesota gears up for a day of celebration and support, remember that it's more than just a telethon. It's a testament to the state's unwavering commitment to nurturing the next wave of agricultural leaders.
