The Minnesota Organic Conference is held each year to bring together farmers, educators, students, researchers, and supporters of organic agriculture. The upcoming event will take place on January 8–9, 2026, and offers two full days of learning and networking for anyone interested in organic production. It is open to both experienced farmers and those who are just beginning their journey into organic systems.
The conference will feature inspiring keynote speakers, breakout sessions on important topics in organic agriculture, and an 80-booth trade show that highlights tools, services, and products used in organic farming. It also provides a welcoming space for participants to share ideas, ask questions, and learn from one another.
This event is designed for a wide audience. Organic farmers and those planning to transition to organic practices will find sessions that support their production goals. Agricultural professionals can explore new resources, and buyers or makers looking to connect with organic suppliers will gain valuable contacts. Students, researchers, and advocates interested in sustainable agriculture will also benefit from the wide range of information shared at the conference.
The 2026 conference will showcase several featured speakers who bring deep knowledge and real-world experience. Joel Gruver, a professor at Western Illinois University, will share insights from his research in soil science, conservation systems, and organic grain production. Ruth M. Buck, an organic dairy farmer from Goodhue, Minnesota, will discuss her family’s experience managing a certified organic dairy farm with robotic milking systems.
Caroline Hegstrom, founder of The Boreal Farm and Taiga Farm & Seed, will offer advice on northern growing methods and organic seed production. Ben Penner, an organic wheat farmer and consultant, will speak about building local markets for organic crops. Meg Moynihan from the Minnesota Department of Agriculture will share her experience working on emerging issues, partnerships, and farm stress support programs.
Participants can also access registration forms, email updates, hotel information, and contact details to help plan their visit. The event will be held at the River’s Edge Convention Center in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
The Minnesota Organic Conference continues to support a strong and connected organic community by offering knowledge, resources, and inspiration for all who care about sustainable farming.
