Soil Summit 2023 - Master Cold Soil Farming Techniques

By Scout Nelson

The upcoming Soil Management Summit promises to transform the way we view and manage our soil. Set against the scenic backdrop of Arrowwood Resort in Alexandria, MN, this event, running from December 7-8, 2023, is a must-attend for anyone passionate about innovative farming.

Organized by the University of Minnesota Extension and the Minnesota Office for Soil Health, and supported by key agricultural entities, the Summit offers a wealth of knowledge, particularly addressing the myths surrounding heavier and colder soils.

By focusing on real-world experiences and applied science, the Summit breaks down the complexities of soil management into actionable strategies.

Experts including researchers, advisors, and accomplished farmers will lead the presentations and discussions. They’ll cover a range of practices, from no-till farming to the effective use of cover crops, providing attendees with valuable takeaways to improve their soil health and productivity.

The event is a golden opportunity for continuing education. Participants can earn up to 18.5 CCA CEUs by attending the full conference.

Pricing details offer options -
For early birds 2-day pass: $175 and early bird 1-day pass: $150
After Nov. 15, 2-day pass: $225 and 1-day pass: $190
Scholarships are also available to make this knowledge accessible to all. Make sure to input your scholarship code from your participating Soil and Water Conservation District when registering to avoid any fees.
