Two upcoming events are being hosted by the University of Minnesota Climate Adaptation Partnership focusing on the intersection of climate change and agricultural resilience.
The first is a webinar Oct. 18 at noon Central featuring Zach Spangler from Cornell University. Like Minnesota, New York is facing increasingly heavy, flashy storm events that impact its agricultural producers. The state has also developed an ambitious blueprint to both help farmers adapt to these shifting conditions, as well as to mitigate climate change's effects by reducing agricultural greenhouse gas emissions.
Learn from Zach about how Cornell Cooperative Extension is taking part of these efforts.
The second event is the annual Minnesota Climate Adaptation Awards, to be held in January.
Know an individual, organization, or business in the agricultural world who is doing an exceptional job of adapting to or combatting climate change? Learn more and nominate them at https://climate.umn.edu/climate-adaptation-awards by Oct. 31.
