Unlock $1,000 Ag scholarships with Minnesota pork board

By Scout Nelson

The Minnesota Pork Board is committed to fostering the next generation of agriculture industry leaders by offering up to five $1,000 scholarships. These scholarships are geared towards young individuals attending two or four-year institutions and aiming for careers that support agriculture, particularly within the pork industry.

Applicants are encouraged from a wide range of disciplines including agricultural business, agricultural communications, agricultural education, and more specialized fields such as animal science, agronomy, and large animal veterinary medicine.

To qualify, students must be Minnesota residents, entering any year from freshman to senior at an undergraduate level, and have a focused interest in the pork industry.

The scholarship application process includes submitting a completed form available on the Minnesota Pork’s website, a letter outlining future aspirations in pork production or the agricultural sector, and a 750-word essay addressing a challenge in the pork industry along with proposed solutions.

Applicants must also provide two letters of recommendation and a professional resume.

The deadline for application submissions is May 15, 2024. This scholarship represents an excellent opportunity for students to secure financial support while contributing to the agricultural landscape.

This initiative not only aids in financial aspects but also encourages students to engage critically with current issues in the pork industry, preparing them for future challenges and opportunities in their careers.
