The third annual Winter Agronomy Meeting will take place on Friday, February 27, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Central time). The event will be held at the Sauk Rapids Government Center Community Room, located at 250 Summit Ave N, Sauk Rapids, MN 56379.
This educational event will be hosted by the Benton, Stearns, Sherburne, and Morrison Soil and Water Conservation Districts along with the University of Minnesota Extension. The meeting is designed to support crop producers and agricultural professionals in Central Minnesota and surrounding areas.
This year’s conservation theme highlights diversified crop rotations. Experts share research findings and field experience to help farmers improve soil health, manage nutrients, and strengthen long-term productivity.
Featured presenters include Dr. Matthew Helmers from ISU Extension, who discusses relay cropping strategies for success. Brad Carlson from UMN Extension presents nitrogen management. Dr. Anthony Hanson from UMN Extension explains Integrated Pest Management and greenbridging practices. Jim Mages from Nutrien speaks about herbicide planning for diverse cropping systems.
After the presentations, lunch and networking opportunities allow attendees to connect with other agricultural professionals. The event is free to attend. However, online registration is required to ensure enough lunches are prepared. Businesses interested in hosting a booth at the event are encouraged to contact the event coordinator in advance.
