Minnesota 4-H is gearing up for an exciting opportunity for youth to showcase their livestock evaluation skills at the Jackson County Fairgrounds. Scheduled for July 29, 2024, this event promises a day of learning and competition for 4-H members from the Southwest, Central, and Southeast regions.
The contest will begin with registration check-in at 8:30 A.M., followed by the start of the competition at 9:30 A.M. Participants will engage in judging different categories of livestock, including beef, meat goats, sheep, and swine, divided into three age-based divisions: Beginner, Junior, and Senior.
The location for this event is the scenic Jackson County Fairgrounds at 78748 550th Ave., Jackson, MN. Caitlyn Krueger, the Jackson County Extension Educator, is available for any inquiries at 507-662-5293 or via email at mnext-jackson@umn.edu.
Participants are encouraged to register by July 15 for a fee of $10, which includes food costs. Registrations after this date until July 26 will incur a $15 fee. Payments can be made via credit card or by checks addressed to the Jackson Co. 4-H Federation, sent to the Jackson Co. Extension Office at 607 S. Hwy 86, Lakefield, MN.
