2024 livestock PDC summit at Lyon County extension office

2024 livestock PDC summit at Lyon County extension office

By Scout Nelson

The Lyon County Extension Office is set to host an important Livestock Program Development Committee (PDC) meeting on January 9, 2024, at 7 p.m. This meeting is a significant gathering for Livestock Superintendents and 4-H members, aimed at shaping the livestock educational agenda for the upcoming year.

During the meeting, participants will engage in crucial discussions about educational opportunities available in 2024, updates on animal identification processes, and the logistics of upcoming showcases.  This platform offers a chance for those involved in livestock management and 4-H youth development to come together and collaboratively plan for a successful year ahead.

The University of Minnesota Extension assures that the event will be accessible to all, including individuals with disabilities. Those requiring accommodation are encouraged to contact Sam Jens, the Extension Educator for 4-H Youth Development in Lyon County, at least two weeks prior to the event.  Efforts will be made to fulfill late requests as feasibly as possible.

The meeting, free of cost and without the need for prior registration, will be held at the Lyon County Extension Office, located at 500 Fair Grounds Road, Marshall, MN 56258.  For more information or to suggest additional discussion topics, attendees are encouraged to reach out to Sam Jens via email at jens0593@umn.edu or by phone on 507-532-1310.

This Livestock PDC meeting represents an excellent opportunity for those in the livestock field and 4-H members to contribute to and stay informed about the latest trends and requirements in livestock management and education.
