Minnesota 4-H is inviting volunteers, youth members and staff to join the Minnesota 4-H Animal Science Project Development Committee (PDC) Kickoff Webinar on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 7 to 8 p.m. Central time. This online session is designed to help county committees begin their planning year with clear direction, shared goals and strong teamwork.
The webinar will explain how a Project Development Committee supports learning, leadership, and project growth within the Minnesota 4-H program. Participants will learn how PDCs guide activities, develop ideas and support local county programs through planning, collaboration and clear communication. The session will also highlight how committees stay aligned with Minnesota 4-H’s mission of positive youth development.
Members of the Minnesota 4-H animal science and volunteer systems teams will discuss several helpful topics. These include the main role of the PDC, how each committee supports county goals, and how a clear structure helps teams stay organized. Presenters will also cover financial processes, policies, rules and ways that committees can build fun and meaningful educational experiences for youth.
The webinar is open to 4-H livestock volunteers, youth and staff, making it a valuable opportunity for anyone involved in the animal science program. The event is free, and participants must complete an online Zoom registration form to attend.
Minnesota 4-H and the University of Minnesota Extension remain committed to creating a welcoming and accessible learning environment. To support equal participation, individuals with disabilities may request accommodations by contacting the event organizers at least two weeks before the webinar. Requests received after that date will be accepted when possible.
This offering is presented in English, and interpreter services may be available with advance notice.
For questions, participants may contact Sharon Davis (davis051@umn.edu) or Katie Johnson (kwending@umn.edu). The kickoff webinar provides an excellent opportunity for counties to gain knowledge, share ideas and start the year with strong support and clear expectations.
