By Scout Nelson

The 2024 Minnesota Youth Livestock Expo (MYLE) is accepting entries for its fifth year, featuring shows of beef, sheep, meat goat, and rabbit from June 27-30 at the Martin County Fairgrounds in Fairmont and swine from July 12-14 at the Mower County Fairgrounds in Austin, open to all Minnesota youth aged 5-21.

Complete rules and entry information for the 2024 MYLE Show are detailed in the MYLE Handbook, available online at: https://issuu.com/stephcronin/docs/2024_handbook. Entries for all species are due by May 22, 2024, although late entries will be accepted until May 29 with a higher fee.

Registration must be completed through the MYLE online entry system found on the event's website: www.mnyouthlivestockexpo.com.

The MYLE Show Coordinator, Kent Thiesse, emphasizes the expo's role as a preparation platform for youth to showcase their animals before county fairs and Minnesota State Fair. The expo also relies on community support through donations and sponsorships to provide awards and prize money to participants.

The MYLE provides a vital opportunity for Minnesota’s young farmers to gain experience and recognition in the agricultural community, setting the stage for their future in farming.
